Features: This book is a technical monograph on the principles and engineering applications of HSDPA technology. The book is divided into 11 chapters. Chapter 1 provides a brief review of the development of mobile communication, especially modern mobile communication, and introduces the background of HSDPA technology and an overview of the HSDPA system. Chapter 2 elaborates on the basic principles of the HSDPA system by detailing the physical layer, MAC layer, and RRC layer functions and structures introduced after HSDPA. Chapter 3 analyzes the performance characteristics that HSDPA technology can achieve. Chapter 4 evaluates the performance of the WCDMA network after the introduction of HSDPA technology. Chapter 5 mainly introduces how to perform wireless network planning after HSDPA technology. Chapter 6 provides detailed examples of HSDPA wireless network planning using planning tools. Chapter 7 compares HSDPA and EV-DO systems from both technical and network characteristics. Chapter 8 discusses the networking strategies that should be adopted indoors and outdoors after the introduction of HSDPA. Chapter 9 provides an overview of HSDPA technology in the TD-SCDMA system. Chapter 10 analyzes the future evolution technologies of HSDPA. Chapter 11 introduces the structural characteristics of typical HSDPA access network equipment. At the end of the appendix, the functional requirements of access network equipment introduced by HSDPA technology are provided. This book can serve as a reference book for teachers in relevant fields and engineering technical personnel engaged in mobile communication network design and optimization. It can also be used as a textbook for graduate students and senior undergraduate students in engineering colleges.
