Features: In the capital Beijing, about tens of kilometers west along Chang'an Avenue from Tiananmen, there is a mountain named Badaguan. On the sunny slope near the mountain, there is a tranquil and elegant place with ancient trees, lush pines and cypresses, and dense shrubs. It is a site with a temple-style architecture called Baozhong Huoguo Temple. It was built in the early years of the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty. It has been spared from the ravages of wars throughout the generations. Shortly after the founding of New China, one day, Zhou Enlai instructed that a peaceful resting place should be found for the martyrs of the post-war, and thus this place became the world-famous Revolutionary Cemetery of Badaguan.
