Features: The Mao Annotations to the Romance of the Three Kingdoms was jointly compiled by Mao Zonggang and his father Mao Run, who integrated ancient texts to reorganize the chapters of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, combining two sub-chapters into one, adding comments to each chapter, ing trivial matters, and replacing poetry. This further highlighted the legitimacy of Shu Han. The revisions by the Mao father and son made the entire work more concise and fluent, enhancing its readability. After the publication of the revised and annotated Romance of the Three Kingdoms, it gradually replaced the Jiajing edition of Romance of the Three Kingdoms and other versions from the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, becoming widely popular across the nation. Mao Zonggang's annotations have essentially become an indispensable part of Romance of the Three Kingdoms. This book is a collected and popularized edition of the annotated Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Mao Run and Mao Zonggang, published in simplified characters in horizontal format. The collation of this edition is based on the 19-volume Mao Annotations to the Four Great Classical Novels, with reference to the Jiajing edition of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Li Zhuo's annotated edition, and the 60-volume Mao annotated edition. It selects the best from various annotated editions and corrects obvious errors. The preface to the annotations in the base text includes explanations, while the main text contains pre-chapter comments and side annotations by Mao Run and Mao Zonggang.
