Features: With Oracle entering the field of microcomputers, the number of users learning Oracle and using it as a database development platform has begun to grow. To meet the needs of this evolving trend, some universities are now experimenting with offering elective courses on Oracle applications. However, there are virtually no textbooks available in the market that are suitable for Oracle application courses. Starting in 2000, based on our experience and insights in teaching and application development, we have compiled a series of practical tutorials (6 books in total). Since their release, they have been widely recognized by university teachers, students, and a broad readership. Over the past two years, some of the books have been reprinted 10 times and are still in high demand. This tutorial is not only suitable for teaching but also for various types of Oracle training and for users who develop applications using Oracle programming. By reading this book and practicing with hands-on operation guides, users can master Oracle and its application technologies in a relatively short period of time. This book consists of four major parts: Oracle9i Practical Tutorial, Experiments, Internships, and Appendices. The content mainly includes Oracle9i development environment, database and table creation, database operations, indexes and integrity, queries and views, an introduction to PL/SQL, triggers and stored procedures, system security, backup and recovery, replication, XML applications, and other concepts. The features of this book are that practical tutorials are followed by examples; the experimental section guides readers step by step through operations; and the internship section introduces comprehensive applications in both C/S and Web modes. The content of each part of this tutorial is interconnected yet relatively independent, carefully arranged according to teaching characteristics, making it convenient for users to select based on their needs. This book can serve as a textbook for undergraduate and associate degree courses in universities. Due to its practical content, it is also suitable as a training textbook for various Oracle9i courses and can be used for self-study and reference by a broad audience.
