Since its publication on March 3, 1989, Maritime Law has received praise from a broad readership and was awarded the "National Excellent Textbook Award" by the State Education Commission in 1992. With the further development of maritime law theory and practice in China, especially the promulgation of the Maritime Law of the People's Republic of China on November 7, 1992, we organized the original authors to revise Maritime Law to reflect the new developments in maritime law theory and practice both in China and internationally, making it more suitable for teaching, research, and practical use. The division of labor for the second edition is as follows: Mo Zengjie for chapters 4, 5, 6, and 7; Chen Wenqiu for chapters 2, 3, and 14; Wu Huanning for chapters 8, 10, 12, 15, and 16; Zhang Lixing for chapters 9, 11, and 13; and the entire book was edited and finalized by the chief editor. The editor-in-chief is Yin Xuemei.
