Features: This book is a planned teaching material for vocational colleges and higher vocational colleges under the Ministry of Education. It is compiled according to the newly formulated Basic Requirements for Mechanics Teaching in Near-Mechanical Specialty Education in Vocational and Higher Vocational Colleges by the Ministry of Education. The book emphasizes the understanding and mastery of fundamental concepts, principles, and methods in mechanics, as well as the application of theory in engineering practice, to help cultivate students' abilities to analyze and solve problems. The book is divided into three parts and fifteen chapters. Part "Statics" includes: Basic Concepts of Statics, Plane Force Systems, and Spatial Force Systems. Part "Mechanics of Materials" includes: Axial Tension and Compression, Practical Calculations for Shear and Bearing, Torsion of Circular Shafts, Internal Forces in Plane Bending, Strength and Stiffness Calculations of Plane Bending Beams, Stress State and Strength Theory, and Strength Calculations of Rods under Combined Deformation. Part "Kinematics and Dynamics" includes: Motion of a Point, Translation and Rotation about a Fixed Axis of Rigid Bodies, Composite Motion of a Point, Plane Motion of Rigid Bodies, and the Principle of Kinetic Energy. Each chapter concludes with a summary and review questions. This book can be used as a teaching material for mechanics courses in near-mechanical specialty programs at vocational colleges, higher vocational colleges, adult colleges, secondary vocational colleges, and private colleges, as well as for reference by relevant engineering technicians.
