Features: Chinese psychology has an early beginning but a relatively short history. From the establishment of the "Introduction to Psychology" course at the Imperial University of Peking in 1900, to the founding of China's first scientific psychology laboratory at Peking University in 1917, and then to the establishment of psychology departments at institutions like Tsinghua University and Hangzhou University in the following years, it has been over a century. However, due to the struggles between war and peace in the 20th century and the ups and downs in the cultural and ideological arena, a significant amount of time was lost, and the development of the discipline was hindered. If we count, the time dedicated to serious academic work is roughly only about half a century.
