Cao Xueqin Did Finish Dream of the Red Chamber!
The 120-chapter common version has a major flaw: to "unify the beginning and the end," it forces Cao Xueqin's first 80 chapters to accommodate Gao E's last 40 chapters.
This terrible "compilation" process is not just "cutting feet to fit into shoes," but rather "substituting the innocent for the guilty."
Therefore, to taste Cao Xueqin's Dream of the Red Chamber, one must read the ancient version of Dream of the Red Chamber.
I sincerely recommend Zhou Hui's edition of Dream of the Red Chamber to everyone. It is the crystallization of Zhou Ruchang's lifelong dedication to studying Dream of the Red Chamber and can be considered an authentic version.
This book is divided into three parts. It includes:
The stories of the ancient and common versions;
A full revelation of the 80 chapters of the ancient Dream of the Red Chamber;
A revelation of Cao Xueqin's Dream of the Red Chamber from the 81st to the 108th chapter.
