Features: The "China Atlas" is a highly practical reference book, featuring 254 maps of various types, approximately 170,000 words of text, and about 40,000 place name entries. The atlas is created using modern digital cartographic techniques, fully incorporating the characteristics of outstanding domestic and international atlases in terms of map layout, content selection, representation methods, printing, and binding, striving for a harmonious unity of scientific rigor, knowledge, practicality, and artistic quality. The data used in the "China Atlas" is authoritative and highly current. Administrative boundaries at the provincial and municipal levels are drawn based on the 1:1,000,000 "Legal Atlas of Administrative Boundaries of the People's Republic of China" issued by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the National Bureau of Surveying and Mapping in June 2004, with administrative division data up to June 2004. Statistical data in the preliminary maps and text descriptions primarily adopts information from the 2003 editions of the "China Statistical Yearbook," "China City Statistical Yearbook," and "China Population Statistical Yearbook." Since its establishment in 1954, the China Cartographic Publishing House has published multiple versions of the China Atlas, with the most recent completed in 1995. With the deepening of China's reform and opening-up, increasing exchanges with the outside world, and the growing need for a comprehensive, systematic, intuitive, and accurate understanding of China's natural, economic, and social conditions, we have re-edited and published this richly informative, aesthetically pleasing, and highly practical reference book— the "China Atlas"—to help readers better understand and study China's fundamental national conditions, provincial conditions, and geography. This atlas inherits the basic structural model of previously published China atlases while innovating and advancing, with significant improvements in both content and form. It breaks through traditional cartographic techniques, representing a new product of the digital era. The atlas covers a wide range of topics and contains a vast amount of information.
