Translation, Inheritance, Beyond. Since the establishment of UNESCO, strengthening dialogue between different cultures has always been one of the core tasks of the organization. There are many ways to achieve this goal, sometimes very difficult, often very complex. However, there is one method that is more conducive to mutual understanding: this is the exchange of knowledge between multiple languages. In 2003, we passed the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage, which marked a turning point in the history of international cultural heritage protection and affirmed this invaluable wealth. From then on, we should support the evaluation of national heritage and its exchange with international networks more than ever before; similarly, we should also more widely collect knowledge of regional and traditional heritage to incorporate it into international cooperation models. This will help diversify global protection practices in the future. This book is one of the flagship publications of UNESCO, an authoritative international journal on heritage protection issues worldwide, and the main forum for exchanging scientific and technical information on museums and cultural heritage. The journal was founded in 1984 and is now published quarterly. Previous editions have been available in English, French, Arabic, Spanish, and other languages. This Chinese edition is the th issue, primarily introducing the current state of museums and cultural heritage in Africa.
