Features: Love between men and women has been a subject of intense debate in philosophy, religion, psychology, aesthetics, and sociology for centuries. This is primarily because such love is closely linked to a person's understanding of social life, their education, and their social behavior. Disagreements about the nature of this intimate emotion and morality are, in terms of ideology, directly or indirectly constrained by class struggles of a certain era. Research and observation indicate that the driving force and intrinsic essence of love are the sexual desires of men and women, as well as the instinct for species continuity. This conclusion is substantiated by the scientific philosophy methodology and the materialist historical outlook on social life. Marx and Engels once said, "Any premise of human history undoubtedly involves the existence of living individuals. What is love between men and women? Why did Romeo and Juliet fall in love at first sight? Do animals have love? Why do people fall in love? How can we explain the enduring, life-and-death devotion of love? Bulgarian philosopher Vasilev explores these questions in this research work. The author cites extensive material from world literature and analyzes the various aspects of the love issue from the perspectives of ethics, sociology, and psychology. The author firmly rejects religious asceticism, arguing that love between men and women is reasonable and proper, while also providing detailed elaboration on issues such as love and responsibility, love and morality, and the heart and mind. Since its first publication in 1984, this book has been printed 12 times and has sold 1,210,000 copies.
