Features: One of the series "Changcang Heishan." This series selects several topics from the historical geography of China, using various landscapes as carriers to introduce related historical events, cultural elements, important figures, customs and traditions, folk legends, and to narrate their historical geographical changes, cultural origins, developmental context, and historical vicissitudes. It explores the profound historical and cultural connotations carried by these landscapes. This book focuses on the ancient capitals of China. A capital is the political, economic, and cultural center of a country. Over thousands of years, due to historical political changes, many capitals have emerged, most of which have now become historical relics. However, some activities from that time still have an impact today, or remnants remain. The evolution of ancient capitals is, in fact, a microcosm of China's history, carrying profound historical and cultural and humanistic connotations, where many historical events and stories have occurred, and numerous historical figures have emerged. This book selects ten ancient capitals that have played a significant role in the historical process of China, recording their geographical conditions, formation, development, and evolution, interspersing relevant historical events, ethnic changes, legends, and folk tales, introducing existing famous scenic spots and historical sites, and exploring their historical vicissitudes and cultural origins.
