Features: Fu Shan, also known as Zhen Shan, styled Qingzhu, also styled Qiaoshan, styled Gongzhita, Shidao Ren, and Zhuyi Dao Ren, etc. He was born in the 35th year of the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty (1607 AD) and died in the 22nd year of the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty (1684 AD). His ancestral home was Datong, and his great-grandfather moved the family to Yangqu, Shanxi, hence he was also known as a native of Yangqu. He was a patriotic scholar in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty, known for his national integrity and innovative spirit. He was proficient in history, classics, poetry, and calligraphy, and particularly skilled in medicine. He integrated Confucian principles with medical theory, unbound from the methods of predecessors, and was praised by ancient scholars as "discussing symptoms without falling into the traps of the past, and formulating prescriptions without deviating from the standards of the ancients." In the 12th year of the Kangxi era (1678 AD), the emperor, "considering his advanced age," specially appointed him as an Inner Court Secretary and sent him back to Taiyuan. After that, he dedicated himself to medicine, setting up a clinic at the Jinxi Temple, receiving patients at Da Ning Tang, and establishing a health center. "Those who came to seek treatment often found the doors full, and he treated both the rich and the poor equally, never showing signs of weariness." He achieved remarkable results in treating illnesses and was called a "medical immortal" by his contemporaries. For nearly four centuries, his medical methods have spread widely across Hebei and Jiangnan, and his disciples have been numerous throughout the generations. He was a highly influential physician during the Ming and Qing dynasties. In the past half-century, research on Fu Shan's medicine has gradually gained attention from the medical community, especially in the last decade, it has flourished like bamboo sprouting after rain. Whether in terms of breadth or depth, it has never been seen before.
