The concept of "Concise Textbooks" was proposed based on the experience of Shanghai Scientific and Technical Publishers in organizing and publishing textbooks. It reflects an understanding of the patterns of teaching content and methods in traditional Chinese medicine and an appreciation of the goals of cultivating traditional Chinese medicine professionals. This series of textbooks is based on the new teaching syllabus from the Ministry of Education of China and the requirements of the National Medical Examination for Practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It takes as its blueprint the higher medical college textbooks published by Shanghai Scientific and Technical Publishers, which highlight the traditional and distinctive features of traditional Chinese medicine (5th edition), as well as the general higher education textbooks for traditional Chinese medicine (6th edition) that reflect the latest achievements in the field. It fully incorporates the reasonable innovations from various existing domestic and international editions of both traditional Chinese and Western medicine textbooks.
From textbook planning to writing, every stage is rigorously reviewed and continuously improved to focus on enhancing internal quality and the consciousness of concise editing. This is reflected in meticulous organization and high attention to detail, aligning with teaching principles, as well as careful writing that ensures concise, complete content, accurate concepts, a comprehensive theoretical framework, thorough integration of knowledge points, and innovation and practicality to meet teaching realities and clinical practice. The goal is to achieve "concise, up-to-date, practical, and economical" characteristics.
At the same time, the textbook layout is innovative, compact, and diverse, with clear hierarchical structures, logically and orderly arranged categories and chapters, fully reflecting clarity, readability, and harmony.
