Features: The selection of this book is entirely based on the materials mastered by the Index. This means that the 49 selected works, nearly 600,000 words of overseas and domestic research on Yu Dafu, are carefully chosen from nearly 10,000 research papers and works on Yu Dafu. The content covers various studies on Yu Dafu, from theory to creation, from thought to psychology. It is not only a comprehensive review of previous research on Yu Dafu but also can serve as a new foundation and starting point for current research on Yu Dafu. The principles of compiling this selection are roughly three: First, a balance of genres. Given that Yu Dafu himself was a conscious stylist who practiced theoretical and creative writing in various literary forms, the research on Yu Dafu's novels, essays, travelogues, letters, diaries, biographies, classical poetry, and literary theory in overseas and domestic studies on Yu Dafu all features representative discussions. This characteristic is reflected in the compilation of this selection. Second, a balance of voices. Throughout time, evaluations of Yu Dafu's literary thought, personality psychology, and creative characteristics have been accompanied by various viewpoints, claims, and voices. Preserving and reproducing this chorus of voices as authentically as possible is also one of the original intentions of compiling this selection. Third, a diachronic coexistence.
