Features: With the deepening of reform and opening-up, foreign languages have become increasingly important for medical and healthcare professionals to learn advanced foreign experience and technology, as well as to expand international exchanges. To meet the growing needs of China's healthcare system for external communication and overseas dispatch channels, the National Medical Examination Center, under the commission of the Ministry of Health, began holding foreign language exams for selecting overseas training personnel for the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Shigei Medical Scholarship in 1987. In 1993, the exam was named the National Foreign Language Proficiency Test for Medical Staff (State Foreign Languages Proficiency Test for Medical Staff, abbreviated as LPT), which provided opportunities for medical and technological personnel in China to improve their professional qualities and participate in international exchanges, playing a positive role in promoting the development of China's healthcare industry. To ensure the smooth operation of the exam and meet the demands of candidates, the National Medical Examination Center organized relevant experts to compile the "National Healthcare System Foreign Language Proficiency Test Guide." The book consists of three parts: "Examination Syllabus," "Examination Practice Tests and Answers," and "Examination Instructions." The "Examination Syllabus" includes syllabi for five languages: English, Japanese, German, French, and Russian. The "Examination Practice Tests and Answers" includes two sets of tests and answers for English and Japanese, while German, French, and Russian each have one set. We sincerely hope that candidates will gain a better understanding of the scope, methods, vocabulary, and standards of the National Healthcare System Foreign Language Proficiency Test after using this book and achieve excellent results in the exam.
