Features: Graduate education is the highest level of higher education, and the training of graduate students is highly specialized. Different supervisors can cultivate graduate students with varying academic levels. The saying "A great teacher can produce outstanding students" still holds true in graduate education. Supervisors are the key to the quality of graduate training, especially for doctoral students. Therefore, building a high-level team of supervisory teachers is an urgent strategic task. To fully leverage the role of supervisors in teaching and nurturing students, Peking Union Medical College's Graduate School has formulated the "Responsibilities of Graduate Supervisors," "Qualifications for Doctoral Supervisors," and "Qualifications for Master's Supervisors," and strictly reviews the eligibility of graduate supervisors according to these regulations. Those who qualify may compete for positions to admit and train graduate students. If a supervisor fails to fulfill their duties, lacks research projects or funding, they will be suspended from admitting graduate students. A supervisor on-the-job training system has been established, requiring new supervisors to attend training before assuming their roles. New supervisors must complete the training to understand relevant regulations regarding admission, training, and degree conferment. Those who do not participate in the on-the-job training are not eligible to admit students. A strict supervisor qualification review system has also been established. Supervisors who fail the review will be suspended from admitting students, and those who fail three consecutive reviews will be stripped of their supervisor qualifications.
