Features: Since the publication of "1000 Questions for Orthopedic Attending Physicians," it has been deeply loved by readers and in high demand, requiring repeated printings that still cannot meet the need. As we prepare for the second edition, considering the increasingly shorter cycles of scientific and technological updates in the world today, along with the continuous development of theories and techniques in orthopedics, the authors have made corrections and revisions to the original book's omissions while also adding new content. This includes updates on advances in orthopedic imaging, diagnosis and treatment of spinal cord injuries, diagnosis and treatment of femoral head necrosis, arthroscopic surgery of the knee, treatment of scoliosis, treatment of congenital hip dislocation, diagnosis and treatment of lumbar instability, diagnosis and treatment of spinal slippage, modern views on the treatment of osteosarcoma, some issues of amputation, and advancements in artificial joint technology. Fresh experiences from both domestic and international fields have been incorporated to meet the needs of readers seeking knowledge and progress. The number of questions has increased from 878 in the original book to 1011, and to better reflect the actual situation, the title has been changed to "100 Questions for Orthopedic Attending Physicians."
Orthopedics is an ancient discipline with a strong professional focus, yet it intersects with many other fields and covers a vast area. In the past two decades, orthopedics has seen rapid development, not only in changes to disease composition but also in the integration of new specialties into the field. Medical students, due to limited course time, can only grasp some basic concepts, while newly graduated physicians often find orthopedics too broad and diverse to master quickly. It is widely believed that "learning with questions" is an effective method for clinical physicians to acquire professional knowledge, offering targeted, efficient, accurate, and easy-to-grasp results.
The China Medical University Press initiated the writing and publication of the "Modern Attending Physicians Improvement Series," requiring the authors to write in a question-and-answer format, precisely to meet this need. We were invited to participate in writing this book and felt the task was arduous and the responsibility significant. We can only do our best to strive for improvement. During the writing process, we referred to the latest developments both domestically and internationally, combining them with our clinical experience. We focused on the difficulties, doubts, hot topics, and points of debate in clinical work, adhering to the principle of maintaining systematicity without being overly comprehensive, including both fundamental concepts and the latest advancements, as well as both diagnostic key points and treatment measures. The book is divided into 22 chapters, listing 878 questions. For content already thoroughly covered in general orthopedic books, we provided concise summaries, while giving more detailed explanations to parts less frequently addressed or commonly encountered in clinical practice.
