Wind-swept valley

Author: Yi Xiangdong
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2003-08-01
Features: Yi Xiangdong has compiled over ten of his representative short stories and novellas in recent years under the title "Valleys Filled with Wind" and asked me to write a preface for it. I happily accepted the request. Here, I would like to share some reflections on the book, both to congratulate the author and to hopefully help readers better understand his works. In my view, the pillars supporting Yi Xiangdong's military-themed fiction world mainly consist of three points:
1. A strong sense of military identity,
2. A profound sentiment for soldiers,
3. A light-hearted tone of military songs.
