Features: Ten years ago, the publication of my book Commentary and Revision of Ancient and Modern Seals attracted attention from the calligraphy and seal-carving community and the media. Articles in various newspapers and magazines described it as a "pioneering achievement in the history of seal studies" or warned that "the trend of revision should not last." Amidst a controversial debate, the insightful perspectives of some knowledgeable individuals prompted self-reflection. I do not claim that they have proven my book to be a groundbreaking work in the history of seal studies, nor do I claim that the revised seals retain the original artistic charm. What I want to say is that the method of revision makes it easier to interpret and appreciate the essence of seal carving art. Art criticism is often easier to praise than to criticize. Whether it is flattery or condemnation, merely using words to describe seal works can hardly be as direct as seeing it with one's own eyes. The great master Wu Changshuo once commented on his students' seals with phrases like " tuy?t" (marvelous) and "" (add more vastness). These undoubtedly correct evaluations are often difficult for beginners to understand what is good or bad about them. Revision with commentary can make it clear and understandable to see the strengths and weaknesses of the original and revised seals. In recent years, after reading Mr. Han Tianheng's Commentary and Revision of 200 Sealed Faults and Mr. Li Gantian's Commentary and Revision of Ancient Seals, both of whom advocate putting theory into practice for revision, I was undoubtedly encouraged to revisit my old work, revise and delete some shortcomings, and re-publish it for the guidance of the.
