Features: From ancient times to the present, people have summarized various vocabulary memorization methods. However, practice has proven that the most effective method for memorizing vocabulary is to master the formation rules of word elements and words. Some medical schools abroad have even set up specialized courses on Medical English Word Formation. It is well-known that medical English vocabulary is difficult to recognize and memorize. But research shows that as long as you remember about 100 combined forms, prefixes, and suffixes related to medicine, and master the word formation rules of medical English, you can understand and master commonly used medical vocabulary. A study shows that mastering the use of more than 300 common word elements is equivalent to mastering more than 30,000 words. It is clear that learning word elements is indeed the most effective method for mastering medical English vocabulary. During his master's studies, Mr. Zhaoguo systematically learned the basic theory and practice of medical English under the guidance of the renowned medical English expert Professor Shao Xundao of China, and conducted in-depth research on the structure of medical English. When teaching medical English to graduate students at Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine, he adopted the method of tabulating vocabulary to help students understand and master medical English word elements and word formation, achieving good results. This dictionary is based on his lecture notes and is intended to provide readers with a method for memorizing and mastering medical English vocabulary. This dictionary includes more than 3,000 English word elements, primarily focused on medicine, but also includes some word elements from disciplines such as chemistry, biology, and some general English affixes. At the beginning of the main text of this dictionary, there is a basic introduction to the word formation rules of medical English, aiming to introduce fundamental knowledge such as the concept of word elements, their origins, word formation rules, and key points of word element analysis.
