Features: The Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods were an era of major social transformation. With the decline of the Shang and Zhou ritual music system, bronze ritual vessels were gradually replaced by daily-use utensils, marking the end of the Bronze Age. After the Qin and Han dynasties, the ritual music system no longer existed, but bronze production did not cease. Instead, it entered daily life more extensively, permeating various aspects of social life. The bronze daily-use utensils collected by the Palace Museum are not only numerous and cover a complete chronological range but also include a rich variety of types, all of which are considered fine pieces of bronze art. This volume features 209 bronze daily-use utensils (sets) from the pre-Qin to the Song dynasties, representing different periods, and reflects, from one perspective, the social life of those times.
