Features: This illustration is drawn based on the descriptions of ancient medical texts primarily from the Neijing (Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon). It cannot represent the exact distribution of meridian lines but is merely a schematic diagram. The author designed, drew, and arranged the meridian lines with the aim of making them visual, ensuring that their distribution did not deviate from the ancient records. However, for pathways that were unclear or had differing interpretations historically, minor additions were made based on the principles of meridian circulation and human anatomy. The circulation of meridian lines is entirely based on the Neijing records. Additional lines that emerged in later developments, such as the Weimo meridian in the Eight Extraordinary Meridians and the lines of the three Yin meridians in the chest and abdomen, were positioned according to the acupuncture points described in the Jia Yi Jing (Miraculous Pivot). To compare and reference ancient meridian maps, the author adopted the Ming-era style meridian and acupoint map from Zhu Lian's New Acupuncture. Although this map does not fully represent ancient meridian maps, it holds some representative value in meridian maps from the Song Dynasty onwards.
