Features: This book is an anthology of historical archives on the Manchu people of Fujian Province, covering aspects such as politics, military, economy, culture, and education of the Manchu people in Fujian. The materials are extensive and hold significant historical value. The Manchu are an indigenous ethnic minority in Fujian Province. The history of the Manchu people in Fujian can be traced back to the late Yuan Dynasty. One branch of the Jurchen nobility migrated from the north to Quanzhou and, through development and proliferation, became a part of the modern Manchu population in Fujian. In the third year of the Shunzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1646), the Qing army advanced into Fujian, overthrowing the Longwu regime established by the Southern Ming. In the 19th year of the Kangxi reign (1680), the Qing Dynasty established permanent Bannerman garrisons in Fuzhou, forming Manchu residential areas centered around these garrisons. The unique historical culture and special political background of the Bannermen made them a relatively independent social group in Fuzhou, and their descendants constitute another part of the Manchu people in Fujian.
