The Judicial Examination is a professional qualification exam that primarily assesses the breadth and accuracy of legal knowledge. This characteristic determines that its exam content must mainly revolve around mandatory legal regulations. The Judicial Examination changes every year, but the essence remains the same—the mandatory legal regulations are the "core" of the exam. Many candidates recognize this point, but they have not mastered the correct method of studying with legal provisions as the center. In many cases, after reviewing the legal provisions, they don’t know from which aspects to understand the meaning of the provisions, or what the key points of the provisions are, or the focus and angles of the questions. As a result, they lament that simply reviewing legal provisions is not very effective. Based on comprehensive research, analysis, and the practical experience of numerous successful candidates, this book provides candidates with a legal-provision-centered review method for the Judicial Examination, which is believed to offer practical and effective help. The greatest feature of this book is its four-in-one approach—legal provisions, question focus, past exam questions, and intensive mock questions—to comprehensively understand and master the key points, difficulties, and question-setting logic of the Judicial Examination, truly achieving the goal of a "one-stop guide."
1. About Legal Provisions
The book ensures the completeness of the main laws while emphasizing key provisions. Based on the designated "Compendium of Mandatory Legal Regulations for the Judicial Examination," relevant judicial interpretations are interspersed for each provision, listing all related legal provisions and interpretations under a specific knowledge point. For example, under the crime of theft, after Article 264 of the Criminal Code, related provisions such as Article 196(3), Article 210(1), Article 253(2), and Article 265 of the Criminal Code are listed under the crime of theft. Additionally, judicial interpretations related to theft and corresponding provisions from other judicial interpretations concerning theft are also included under the theft knowledge point. This ensures that all legal provisions and judicial interpretations related to theft are very comprehensive and easy to master, which is highly beneficial for the exam.
2. About Question Focus
The book statistically analyzes the past exam points and their corresponding scores for each chapter of the various legal subjects. Based on this, it analyzes the key points, question focus, and angles of important provisions. It breaks down the key points involved in one or more provisions and identifies the question focus, allowing candidates to grasp the content of the provisions from multiple perspectives while understanding the question-setting angles, truly improving their exam performance.
3. About Past Exam Questions
While analyzing the key points and question focus of each provision, the book also displays the relevant past exam questions and their answers. Based on the main key points of each question, it is categorized under the corresponding key point analysis, visually reflecting the importance of the knowledge point and its past exam trends. More importantly, it helps candidates understand the knowledge points through questions, grasp the key points, and master possible question-setting methods. Here, it’s worth mentioning the role of past exam questions. Just as authentic TOEFL test questions are crucial for preparing for the TOEFL exam, past exam questions for the Judicial Examination are also very important for review and preparation. Studying past exam questions not only helps master the key points and trends of the Judicial Examination but also allows for a deeper understanding of the legal provisions. Additionally, the repetition of questions in the Judicial Examination is an objective reality—some questions are direct reproductions of past questions, while others are merely slight modifications. This can be clearly seen through the summary of past exam questions in this book.
4. About Intensive Mock Questions
Referencing the requirements and characteristics of the Judicial Examination, intensive mock questions are developed for the key points of important provisions (especially those that have not been tested yet). Through targeted and repeated practice, candidates can deepen their understanding and comprehensive mastery of the provisions.
5. About the Authors
All the authors of this book are Ph.D. holders in relevant legal disciplines and have all passed the Judicial Examination with high scores, possessing systematic successful experiences and judicial exam tutoring experience.
6. About Practical Effectiveness
Since its first publication in 2004, this series has gained recognition and trust from a large number of candidates. Many believe that the four-in-one compilation model of legal provisions, question focus, past exam questions, and intensive mock questions aligns with the characteristics of the Judicial Examination and meets the requirements of practical exams, opening up a correct and effective provision-centered review and exam preparation method. The Judicial Examinations of 2004, 2005, and 2006 also validated the success of the "one-stop guide" compilation model and content.
Additionally, since the publication of this series was relatively early, some readers were concerned that newly added legal regulations and key points after its release would not be reflected. To address this, we will promptly publish new content and key points on our website. It is particularly noteworthy that some intensive mock questions in this series are highly similar to or even identical to the authentic questions in the Judicial Examinations after its publication, with this being especially evident in the criminal law section. Here are a few examples for readers to compare and contrast. (Figure omitted)
At the request of many candidates, the "One-Stop Guide" series has added a section on Legal Philosophy and Legal History since 2007. This section does not include legal provisions, but we adhere to the "One-Stop Guide" compilation approach, combining question focus, past exam questions, and intensive mock questions. We believe it can achieve the same goals and effects as the "One-Stop Guide."
