Her husband Sun Xiwang is kind-hearted, intelligent, and simple, but timid and afraid of causing trouble for Shuangshuang. During the commune period, Shuangshuang, despite Xiwang's opposition, repeatedly exposed and criticized some individuals who harmed the collective for personal gain. She also fought against feudal practices like arranged marriages, leading to frequent conflicts between the couple, with Xiwang even leaving home on several occasions under false pretenses. After being elected as the women's team leader, Shuangshuang led the villagers to achieve remarkable results in production. With Shuangshuang's help and the education of facts, Xiwang finally came to his senses, and the couple reconciled. Some officials and villagers who had taken advantage of the collective also changed their backward mindset, bringing new vitality to the production team.
