Features: The story takes place in northern Guangdong in 1946. A small group of armed personnel, marginalized and sabotaged by the KMT reactionaries, "mutinied" from the KMT army under the leadership of Sergeant Ma Long. Ma Long led over a dozen people into the mountains,“”, began armed activities of robbing the rich to help the poor. Our party promptly sent Ye Yongmao, the liaison officer of the northern Guangdong guerrillas, into this "special action team" to carry out work. Due to Ma Long's humble origins and deep hatred for the KMT reactionary ruling group, he was willing to accept the leadership of our party's northern Guangdong branch and changed the "special action team" to the "independent detachment." Later, Ma Long's sworn brother Li Dengao and Diao Feihu colluded with the KMT gendarmerie to try to eliminate the "independent detachment." After the resolute exposure and strong counteraction by Ye Yongmao and Ma Long, they foiled their criminal plans. After long and complex struggles, this "independent detachment," originally composed of scattered soldiers and mercenaries, was finally officially established as our "Fourth Detachment of the Northern Guangdong Guerrilla Brigade."
