How to deal with the storage issues of breast milk?

Patient's question:

I have something to do tomorrow and need to go out for half a day. Can I express the breast milk tonight and store it in the refrigerator's? Wait until the baby is hungry, heat it with boiling water, and then give it to the baby to drink. Will it harm the baby after drinking it?

Doctor's answer:

If the baby doesn't finish drinking it in one go, it's best to put in two more bottles. It's also not advisable to put it back in the fridge if it's not finished. Once the milk is taken out of the fridge to warm it up and the baby doesn't drink it, putting it back in the fridge will accelerate the spoilage of the milk. Therefore, it's recommended to heat only as much as the baby will drink. Generally, it can be kept for four to five hours. If it's left at room temperature, it's best to drink it within two hours. This should not affect the nutritional components of breast milk.
