Features: E-commerce is both a product of global economic integration and a major driving force for its development. It represents the future direction of trade methods and has become one of the largest growth points in the global economy, serving as the basic form of trade activities in the information society. The "Beijing Plan for National Economic and Social Development Informatization during the 11th Five-Year Plan Period" proposes accelerating the popularization and promotion of e-commerce, improving its overall application level, and establishing Beijing as a national e-commerce center. Beijing has included the development of e-commerce as one of the three major tasks of current informatization construction. In 2005, the Beijing Municipal Information Office, after successfully completing a survey on the development status of e-commerce across the city, compiled the "Beijing E-commerce Development Report (2005)" with the goals of data continuity, depth, and thorough analysis. Through tracking and research on nearly a thousand key enterprises in Beijing, the report aims to promptly grasp and monitor the development status of e-commerce in Beijing, thereby playing a significant role in helping government departments formulate e-commerce development policies, vigorously promoting e-commerce, and guiding enterprises in applying e-commerce.
