Features: The Great Encyclopedia of China covers various disciplines and fields, including philosophy, social sciences, literature and arts, culture and education, natural sciences, and engineering technology. It is initially planned to have a total of 80 volumes, with each volume containing approximately 1.2-1.5 million words. The plan is to complete it within about ten years. The number of volumes and the word count of the full edition will exceed those of most general encyclopedias published abroad, but it will be comparable in length to the first editions of some foreign encyclopedias. We intend to adjust and condense the content in the second edition. The Great Encyclopedia of China is published by volume according to discipline, without volume numbering. Each volume is labeled with the name of the discipline, such as "Philosophy," "Law," "Mechanics," "Mathematics," "Physics," "Chemistry," "Astronomy," and so on. The content of each discipline in the full encyclopedia is written in the form of entries, following the system and hierarchy of the respective discipline, with a planned total of about 100,000 entries. The entries in each discipline provide a detailed account and introduction to the fundamental knowledge of that discipline, making it suitable for readers with high school education or above, equivalent to university-level knowledge. This encyclopedic reference tool can serve as a bridge and stepping stone for readers to enter and explore the depth and breadth of various disciplines. The China Great Encyclopedia Press, in addition to editing and publishing the Great Encyclopedia of China, also plans to edit and publish comprehensive medium and small-scale encyclopedias and encyclopedic dictionaries, and to collaborate with specialized institutions to edit and publish various specialized encyclopedias to meet the needs of different readers.
