Features: With the continuous improvement of English teaching quality in high schools, the starting proficiency level for college English teaching is also generally increasing. However, in some universities, a portion of students still face difficulties in learning the English Level 1 textbook due to various reasons, with greater challenges in listening. A College English Listening Prep Course is needed as a transitional textbook for them.
1. The College English Listening Prep Course is designed based on the gap between students' listening proficiency and their vocabulary knowledge, as well as their specific difficulties in starting to learn listening. It is divided into five major sections.
2. Each section consists of two parts: "Listen and Read" and "Listen and Practice." The "Listen and Read" part aims to help students integrate the three dimensions of sound, form, and meaning of words and sentences through repeated listening and reading. The "Listen and Practice" part is designed to reinforce the learning outcomes of the "Listen and Read" section, with exercises focusing on the main content of that section.
3. The training focus of the last two units is selected from common phrases in the Level 1 Listening Course, laying a foundation for students to enter the Level 1 Listening learning stage.
4. Given the focused content and lower difficulty level of this course, it can also serve as a supplementary textbook for intensive Chinese-English listening training.
