Features: The "Olympic Series" for primary and secondary schools is divided into over 200 varieties, including textbooks, introductory textbooks, practice papers, mock exam papers, intensive textbooks, classic problem-solving books, weekly tests, question compilations, and multi-solution problem-solving books. This series is compiled by the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads and is a research outcome of Beijing Step-by-Step Quality Education Research Institute. Since its publication by the Olympic Press, it has stood out uniquely and is deeply loved by teachers, parents, and students. After significant revisions, re-editions, or rewrites, it has been renamed as "Golden Medal Olympiads" and "Golden Medal Schools," and is now re-published and distributed by Jinghua Publishing House. At this re-publication, sincere gratitude is extended to millions of readers across the country. The Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads (referred to as "Subject Olympiads") are one of China's most extensive, widely participated, and influential subject competition activities for primary and secondary school students. Subject Olympiads are derived from and extended from the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), International Physics Olympiad (IPHO), International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), and other internationally influential secondary school subject competitions that attract millions of young students every year. The reason for such attention lies in the strong innovation, flexibility, comprehensiveness of Olympiads, as well as their focus on cultivating students' exploration skills and inspiring their innovative awareness—qualities that are at the core of quality education. This is also the need for future development. Based on years of in-depth research on this activity and a large number of outstanding books in this category, the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited outstanding educators dedicated to this field from all over the country to write and publish a series of books on mathematics, Chinese, English, physics, chemistry, biology, and information technology—covering seven subjects and over 200 varieties. In terms of the variety, quantity, and quality of our Olympiad books, they are considered the most influential among peers both domestically and internationally, and are the most appealing to primary and secondary school teachers and students. The purpose and characteristics of the "Golden Medal Olympiads" and "Golden Medal Schools" series are as follows:
1. High: Derived from textbooks but higher than them. Derived from textbooks means it is written according to the latest [curriculum standards] of the Ministry of Education; higher than textbooks means it is closely aligned with the competition syllabi of various levels, ensuring comprehensive alignment in content, question types, and ability requirements, thereby fostering interest, developing intelligence, and enhancing skills.
2. Accurate: Scientifically precise and well-structured. Each book is designed according to the characteristics of the subject, scientifically organized, and follows a step-by-step approach, providing in-depth yet accessible analysis and detailed problem-solving methods.
3. Innovative: Features novel and engaging question types. It collects the essence of recent Olympiad, middle school, and high school exam questions from around the world, representing the highest level of current Olympiads and reflecting new concepts in curriculum reform, as well as new ideas, methods, and trends in competition question-setting.
4. Refined: Selects classic examples that are challenging yet not obscure, flexible, and achievable. It emphasizes learning by example and applying knowledge to different contexts; it focuses on multi-solution, multi-variable, and multi-question approaches, prioritizing the training of thinking skills rather than rote memorization, making learning an interest and hobby.
5. Renowned: Gathered by famous teachers and collected from famous competitions. The Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited renowned professors from prestigious universities, special-grade teachers, senior teachers, subject leaders, and famous Olympiad gold medal coaches to contribute.
