Features: Xiangyun carp and Xiangyun tilapia are three new varieties of crucian carp and tilapia developed by a team led by Academician Liu Yun of Hunan Normal University after more than ten years of effort. These two fish were selected by the National Development and Reform Commission as the specific implementation unit for the national high-tech industrial demonstration project. Hunan Yun Biotechnology Co., Ltd. has now built the largest domestic temperature-controlled, factory-based production base for crucian carp and tilapia fry, with an annual production capacity of 1 billion Xiang carp (tilapia) fry. The large number of high-quality Xiangyun carp and Xiangyun tilapia fry produced have been widely propagated for farming in 27 provinces and cities across Hunan, Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Chongqing, Jiangxi, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Fujian, Henan, Hebei, Anhui, Shandong, Beijing, Tianjin, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Qinghai, and Xinjiang. The cumulative propagation area has exceeded 10 million hectares, generating additional economic value of over 2 billion yuan, with significant economic and social benefits. Xiangyun carp and Xiangyun tilapia are two entirely new triploid crucian carp and tilapia breeding varieties. To help producers and consumers better understand these fish, this book systematically introduces the biological characteristics and high-yield cultivation techniques of Xiangyun carp and Xiangyun tilapia.
