Features: The publication of "Fifty Years of Corn Cultivation Research—Collected Works of Mr. Chen Guoping" is finally coming to fruition. This is the crystallization of Mr. Chen Guoping's 50 years of hard work in the field of agricultural science, as well as the heartfelt gratitude and respect from his two students. From a young age, Chen Guoping grew up in the countryside. His difficult life led him to participate in labor at an early age, witnessing the hardships of farmers' labor and the poverty of their lives. From childhood, he harbored a dream of studying agriculture, and the urgent need for food in China at the early stage of the founding of the People's Republic of China further solidified his resolve to pursue agricultural studies. He finally fulfilled his dream, attending Nanjing Agricultural College, which was one of the most prestigious agricultural institutions in China at the time, where he had the privilege of learning from renowned professors such as Li Yanghan, Ma Yuhua, and Feng Zefang. After graduating from university, he was recommended to study in the Soviet Union, where he was fortunate enough to enter the highest-ranking agricultural institution in the Soviet Union, receiving excellent scientific education and training in science and technology. Nearly eight years of systematic study both domestically and internationally laid a solid theoretical foundation for him and enabled him to master the ability to conduct research independently.
