Features: The "Beijing City and Suburban Map" has a scale of 1:50,000 and was published in the 36th year of the Republic of China (1947). It was drawn by the Engineering Bureau of the Beijing Municipal Government and printed and distributed by Lisheng Book Company. This map is a complete map of Beijing published before the founding of the country, clearly showing the geographical boundaries of Beijing at that time—north to Hulongguan, south to Xihongmen, east to Huayuanzhai, and west to Sanjiadian. It is a political map compiled based on a topographic map, reflecting the condition of Beijing in the late 1940s and the planning traces along Chang'an Avenue. For easier reading, the map was reduced by 0.88 times, but to preserve the original appearance of the map, the scale was not changed.
