Features: This book is a research monograph supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. In addition to the introduction briefly outlining the origin, fundamental concepts, development, and historical and current applications of impinging streams, the book is divided into two parts: "Gas-Continuous Impinging Streams" and "Liquid-Continuous Impinging Streams." Most of the content is based on the authors' research findings, respectively introducing the basic principles, properties closely related to applications, and progress in development and major achievements.
The principles and properties of gas-continuous impinging streams include the flow of the continuous phase, particle behavior, particle residence time and distribution, fluid resistance of impinging stream devices, and the influence of fluid impact on liquid dispersion. In terms of application development, it primarily involves unit processes such as drying, absorption, impinging stream combustion of pulverized coal and liquid fuels, and grinding of solid materials.
The "Liquid-Continuous Impinging Streams" section first discusses how the significant differences in liquid aggregation state and properties compared to gases result in completely distinct characteristics from gas-continuous impinging streams. It introduces the excellent properties of liquid-continuous impinging streams in effectively promoting micro-mixing and exhibiting strong pressure fluctuations, as well as their impact on kinetic processes. The section also presents experimental research findings on the use of liquid-continuous impinging stream devices in the synthesis of ultrafine precipitated white carbon black, nano-copper powder, and nano-titanium dioxide via the reaction-precipitation method. Additionally, it introduces several newly developed application-based technologies and equipment for liquid-continuous impinging streams.
This book is suitable for use by science and technology professionals in universities, research, design, and chemical engineering enterprises, as well as doctoral and master's students in the fields of chemical engineering and technology.
