For many years, he has used the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau as his creative base, engaging in the creation of Western-style landscape paintings. Currently, he serves as the Vice President of the Qing Fine Arts and Calligraphy Institute and is a National Level 2 Fine Arts Master, working at the Xining Literature and Arts Federation of Qinghai Province. Painter Zhang Haihong is a seeker and appreciator of the artistic essence of the snow-covered land of China, and he is also a seeker and appreciator who has already unlocked the mysterious door. Born and raised in this land, he was nurtured by art from an early age. At the age of 14 or 15, he began studying fine arts and gradually entered the world of art. He studied Western and Chinese painting, followed renowned masters, pursued specialized studies, and persistently engaged in sketching and dedicated creation. In his twenties, he traveled extensively across the famous mountains and rivers of his motherland, including the Taihang, Mount Tai, Mount Hua, Mount Huangshan, Mount Lu, Mount Emei, Mount Qingcheng, and the Qilian Mountains, Aining, Bayankala, Kunlun, and Tanggula in Qinghai. He then traveled south to the Yarlung Tsangpo River Basin, enduring hardships in his quest for inspiration for Western-style landscape paintings in China.
