Features: "Songs in the Anti-Japanese" is the second volume of the "Music Classics Literature Collection of the People's Liberation Army of China." In 2005, it marked the 60th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World War II against Fascism. We selected 66 songs to compile this book, aiming to recreate the glorious journey of our army during the Anti-Japanese War, celebrate the remarkable achievements of the Communist Party of China in the war, and praise the indomitable and hardworking spirit of the Chinese nation in its struggle. "Songs in the Anti-Japanese" consists of three parts. Part 1, "Go to the Enemy's Rear — The Steps of Our Army's Anti-Japanese War," compiles 23 songs, intended to reflect the glorious battle journey of our army during the Anti-Japanese War—"Anti-Japanese" (adhering to the strategic general principle of a comprehensive and protracted war, advancing into enemy territory, and conducting independent and autonomous battles against Japan), "Anti-Kuomintang" (adhering to a defensive stance and repelling three anti-communist upsurges by the Kuomintang's hardliners), and "Military Construction" (strengthening military construction, carrying out rectification campaigns, production activities, and activities of supporting the government, loving the country, and cherishing the people to enhance combat effectiveness). The second part, "Ode to Yan'an — Songs from the Anti-Japanese Democratic Base Areas," compiles 24 songs, striving to reflect the fervent life of struggle in the anti-Japanese democratic base areas from different perspectives. The third part, "March of the Great Swords — Anti-Japanese Salvation Song Movement," compiles 19 songs that emerged from the Anti-Japanese Salvation Song Movement. These songs greatly inspired the anti-Japanese sentiment of the Chinese nation, boosted the anti-Japanese morale of the entire army and people, and made significant contributions to the Chinese people's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.
