Features: Comparing the Bian Zang Zhi Ben (Market Collection Copy) with the Geng Chen Ben (Gengchen Copy), this edition retains some unique pre-capter poems exclusive to the Zhi Ben, preserves a small number of unique pre-capter comments found only in the Zhi Ben, and retains some unique annotations and similar self-reflective texts characteristic of the Zhi Ben. Through an analysis of textual content, paper quality, and preservation condition by experts such as Feng Qiyong, this manuscript is believed to have been copied in the early years of the Jiaqing era of the Qing Dynasty. Additionally, compared to other Zhi Ben copies, this (fragmentary manuscript) exhibits distinctive features in the wording of the overall titles, the writing style of the chapter titles, and certain individual textual details in the main body. Although this manuscript only survives as a fragment of ten chapters, it holds significant academic research value and represents another major discovery in the study of Dream of the Red Chamber in recent decades.
