Features: Chen Zidu, born in Hangzhou in 1959, is currently an associate professor at Zhejiang Academy of Arts, a member of the Chinese Oil Painting Society, the Zhejiang Fine Arts Association, the Zhejiang Oil Painting Association, and the vice chairman of the Ancient Ceramics Committee of the Zhejiang Collectors Association. From 1987 to 1993, he attended the China Academy of Art twice for further studies. After graduation, he has been devoted to creating oil paintings of figures and still life. His style is elegant and rich, highly praised by collectors from all over the world. The subjects in his works are extremely diverse, such as silk, redwood, ceramics, and textiles, which embody the millennia-old civilization of China; pomegranates, kumquats, and ginkgo trees are filled with the countless beautiful aspirations of the Chinese people; flutes, erhu, and pipa sing the rich journey of the various ethnic groups in China. Occasionally, a fragrant branch of osmanthus, and sometimes, sparkling millet is scattered like stars—time, profound as history; space, vast as the universe; and emotion, luxurious as life. His series of works have attracted widespread attention from the world.
