Walking with the Civil Code - Issues of Chinese Civil Law and Civil Law Methodology (Volume 2)

Author: Wang Liming
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2006-12-01
Features: This book is a compilation of recordings from the author's lectures over the past five years at various institutions, including his own university, affiliated institutions, and courts. In the field of law, publishing lecture recordings or transcripts has positive significance: on one hand, although lecture notes tend to be more conversational, good ones are often easy to understand and engaging, making them more accessible to readers than academic monographs. On the other hand, speakers often address major and cutting-edge issues in academic or judicial practice, making their content highly targeted. Compared to systematic academic monographs, lecture content is more focused and concise, allowing listeners to better grasp the essence of the speaker's academic insights and agile thinking. What is most important is that while high-quality academic monographs are certainly needed to delve deeply into the frontiers of legal theory, the author believes that, in a certain sense, there is also a need to disseminate legal concepts, particularly those of civil law, to the public so that they can actively participate in our rule-of-law construction efforts. Thus, lecture works are also what society needs. This small book dedicated to readers captures some of the content from the author's lectures across the country over the years, or perhaps it reflects the author's and fragments of civil law thinking in recent years. However, the book is not arranged chronologically by lecture time, as that would inevitably lead to repetition and lack of organization. Therefore, in terms of structure, while this book is a collection of lectures, it is still organized by certain thematic sections to facilitate reading.
