The Hydropower Volume mainly includes national hydropower thematic planning; hydropower base planning; planning for major rivers; planning for large hydropower projects such as the Three Gorges Dam.
The Power Grid Volume mainly includes power grid thematic planning; regional power grid planning organized by the Ministry of Electric Power and power companies (macro-system design); Three Gorges transmission and transformation planning.
The Rural Power, Nuclear Power, Wind Power, and Technology Volume mainly includes rural electrification and rural power grid development planning; nuclear power development policies and nuclear power planning site selection; new energy generation, wind power development planning; medium- and long-term development planning for power technology and policies for power industry technology and equipment.
The materials in this book are organized in chronological order, with the Five-Year Plans as the main thread. The selection of materials aims to be complete and concise, including the basis for formulating each plan, its objectives and approach, main content, and the organization and review opinions on the planning work. A postscript is also added to explain. The effort is made to both improve the completeness and accuracy of the selected materials and facilitate future planners in exploration and application.
Additionally, to maintain the completeness and systematic nature of the planning materials and provide more practical basic data for research on power development, this book also collects recent research achievements in the field of power planning.
