Tao Dictionary

Author: Wang Entian
Publisher:
Publication Date: 2007-01-01
Features: This book is based on Catalogue of Tangwen, using facsimiles, and generally maintains the original size, with some characters slightly reduced. Except for cinnabar and ink inscriptions, it primarily excludes imitations. The book includes only Warring States period Tangwen or a minimal amount of Spring and Autumn period Tangwen, and also incorporates Qin dynasty Tangwen, marked with a triangle symbol in the upper right corner of Qin inscriptions for distinction. The book is organized by radical from Shuowen Jiezi. For characters found in Shuowen, a seal script is appended above the column, and a regular script below; for those not found in Shuowen, only a regular script is appended, with the most common characters noted as much as possible. Unidentifiable characters are listed in an appendix. Some characters include brief annotations and the first scholar to decipher them. Alternative interpretations are provided for reference. The numbers under each character in the main text and important characters refer to the page numbers in Catalogue of Tangwen. For example, "3#8226;619#8226;1" indicates that 3 is the volume number, 619 is the page number, and 1 refers to the facsimile on that page. Each page has a column for the total page number outside the main text. An index is appended at the end. The index is organized by stroke order, with the numbers under each character indicating the page numbers in this book.
