Features: "New View of Life" was written during the War of Resistance. Although the article discusses "philosophy of life," the topics it covers, such as "Moral Courage," "Responsibility of Knowledge," "Purpose and Means," and "Breaking the Chains of Determinism and Mechanism," are all related to the ethics and responsibilities of modern Chinese intellectuals. "New View of Life" is a collection of speeches and miscellaneous talks given by the author. The author writes with ease, making it light and enjoyable for readers. However, the words in these books still convey a very rich intellectual depth, which is precisely the reason for our re-publishing it today.
