The Han Chinese compared the imperial libraries where important books were stored to the Taoist paradise of Penglaishan, referring to them as "Han's Stone, Laozi's Penglaishan." Later generations thus called these libraries "Penglaishan Pavilion," and the name was borrowed for this series.
