Features: This book selects 64 short essays from 60 outstanding writers. The selection principle is to require concise and fluent language, easy to read and recite, suitable for the reading ability of Chinese readers. The selected articles cover a wide range of topics, styles, and genres, including essays, fiction, biographies, poetry, (notes), and discourses. Most of the works are about 500 words long, with the longest being no more than a thousand words. The target readers of this anthology are mainly college students and other English enthusiasts, suitable for extracurricular reading and self-study, as well as for classroom teaching materials and supplementary textbooks. In my memory, the most important day in my life is the day my teacher Anne Sullivan Macy came to my side. The life before and after the connection between the two is truly worlds apart, and every time I think about it, my heart is filled with wonder. It was March 3, 1887, three months before I turned seven.
