Features: The Theory of Joint Criminality is an academic monograph revised based on the author's doctoral dissertation completed in 1987. Although this edition was published as late as 1992, the doctoral dissertation defense was completed in March 1988. After the defense, the author absorbed various questions raised during the defense and made significant revisions and supplements to the dissertation, particularly by adding new content, forming a substantial theoretical system of joint criminality. The first part of the book is the general theory of joint criminality, where the author systematically explores fundamental theoretical issues in nine chapters. Except for the introduction, which provides a historical examination of joint criminality, the general theory mainly addresses issues related to the conviction and sentencing of joint criminality. Especially, the author offers a detailed discussion on joint criminal acts and joint criminal intent, which holds significant importance for resolving conviction issues in joint criminality. The second part of the book is the specific theory, where the author discusses eleven chapters of theoretical issues related to joint criminality, including the causal relationship of joint criminality, the initiation of joint criminality, and the criminal procedure issues of joint criminality. It can be said that this book is one of the most in-depth and comprehensive works in China's criminal law academia on the topic of joint criminality. Since the book was mainly written around 1987, significant modifications were made to China's criminal law provisions on joint criminality afterward, particularly in the 1997 criminal law revision, where the provisions on conviction and sentencing of joint criminality were adjusted. To provide readers with a comprehensive understanding of the changes in China's joint criminality system after the publication of this edition in 1992, the book includes two appendices: Joint Criminality Phenomena in Recent Criminal Legislation and Their Interpretation and Historical Misinterpretation and Logical Misguidance—A Review of the Revision on Joint Criminality.
