Features: To meet the diverse needs of readers, we began revising the dictionary again in 1996. This revision added and removed some words, modified some definitions, and further implemented the regulations on language and characters issued by relevant national authorities in the treatment of character forms, pronunciations, traditional characters, and variant characters. All multi-character entries were annotated with phonetic transcriptions, most words were labeled with parts of speech, and additional notes were provided on the writing, reading, and usage of certain words. We also introduced a new section titled "Vocabulary." These changes are all efforts made to enhance the normative and practical value of the dictionary. This book is a small-scale dictionary primarily focused on, mainly intended for readers with a junior high school education level, especially primary school teachers and students, for language learning and teaching. Over the past twenty years, it has been cherished by a broad readership, and many have enthusiastically offered revision suggestions.
