Features: In the art college entrance examination, the sketch portrait is a difficult point. When practicing sketch portrait training, it is not advisable to draw only human portraits. You should also draw plaster geometric shapes, still lifes, plaster figures, and even some sketching exercises. It needs to be emphasized that candidates should not neglect sketching training, as it is not only important for sketching but also for color and creation. To a certain extent, a candidate's sketching level determines their overall modeling ability and their ability to control the picture, which in turn determines the expressiveness and artistic appeal of their work. Therefore, drawing at least 10 sketches every day is essential for candidates! When practicing sketch portrait training for the exam, pay attention to the following points.
First, we should focus on the artistic expressiveness of the picture. A sketch portrait is different from a plaster figure. Since human skin is elastic and the texture varies from person to person, it is different from the cold and rigid texture of plaster. Therefore, the techniques for sketching portraits should be lighter and more flexible. A simple method of dividing the picture into blocks can hardly show the rich changes of the portrait and is prone to being stiff.
Second, the issue of overall unity. Whether a work can attract the viewer's attention depends on the overall effect; otherwise, even if the details are drawn to the utmost refinement, it is meaningless.
Third, the issue of structure. The structure of the human head requires candidates to conduct specific rational analysis.
Fourth, the issue of spatial sense. Western-style sketching training requires the picture to reflect the candidate's understanding of three-dimensional space. It is necessary to enhance the three-dimensionality of the figure, handle the relationship between black, white, and gray in the major planes, and the relationship between reality and illusion, to show the extension of space.
Fifth, the issue of in-depth portrayal. In a 3-hour exam sketch portrait, in-depth portrayal of the facial features is particularly important.
Sixth, the issue of edge line treatment. Edge lines are a problem that many candidates tend to overlook when drawing sketch portraits.
Seventh, it needs to be emphasized that copying is important. For beginners in sketching, targetedly copying some sketches by masters can effectively avoid being misled, and this is also a shortcut to progress.
