Features: The Sichuan Railway Protection Movement is characterized by its prominent feature of mass anti-imperialist and anti-feudal struggles. After the establishment of the Sichuan Railway Protection League, the entire province's populace joined the tide of "striving for railway rights," driving the Sichuan Railway Protection Movement to repeated climaxes. From mass gatherings, demonstrations, and petitions to strikes, resistance against grain and tax levies, and even violent incidents of defiance against the Qing Dynasty's rule, all highlighted the Sichuan people's patriotic spirit in opposing imperialism and feudalism, as well as their fervent commitment to pursuing modernization. The Sichuan Railway Protection Movement is a renowned event in the Xinhai Revolution and has always been a subject of widespread attention. After the founding of New China, scholars in the historical field have made breakthroughs in researching the history of the Sichuan Railway Protection Movement. Professor Wei Yingtao, a distinguished historian, wrote "The History of the Sichuan Railway Protection Movement" in the early 1980s, comprehensively and systematically discussing the occurrence, development, and evolution of the movement, proposing highly insightful academic views. It is hailed by scholars both at home and abroad as a "masterpiece in the study of the Sichuan Railway Protection Movement," and this book draws heavily on the academic achievements of that work. Based on my research into the literature on the Sichuan Railway Protection Movement, I have illustrated important historical facts of the movement through comic strips, hence the title of this book, "Comics on the Sichuan Railway Protection Movement."
